Just having an email address or a website is not enough in today's ever expanding world wide web.  It is vital that your information can easily be found and that you can be reached.  That is the reason this web domain came to be.  This site is privately owned and operated and is not affiliated with the Indiana Film Commission so it relies on the community it represents for support.

FAQ

Q.  Why should I advertise here on Indiana Film?
A.  By placing an ad on this domain you are assured high ranking if not #1 ranked hit from most of the popular search engines for film or video production in Indiana.  No matter how great your website is, it's useless if it cannot easily be found by your target audience.
Q.  I don't have a website and don't really think I need one so isn't this a waste of money?
A.  Considering that newspapers charge 6-12 dollars a line in classifieds, and radio or television ads cost much, much more, internet advertising is the most cost efficient advertising surpassed only by word-of-mouth.  Plus, a website offers more detailed information than you can affordably provide on the traditional venues.
Q.  I know nothing about making a website can you make one for me?
A.  Yes.  Click on the D2 below the menu buttons or click the D2 down at bottom of the page in the copyright notice.  If you already have a website there is no additional charge for the basic sign-up rate which includes one site link and one email link.  If you have neither email or website, then D2 can arrange hosting and email as well.
Q.  Are you some kind of web company that is trying to fill a niche without any real knowledge of film or video production?
A.  No.  D2 is Donahoe Designs which is at the moment just Michael Donahoe.  My web business is young and starting out but I have been working freelance in the Indianapolis market since 1993.  I started out, as most do, as a production assistant, and now work as a first A.C. and occasionally as a camera operator.  I have seen a need for some sort of web community for the production industry for a few years now and all costs to operate Indiana Film come from my pocket.  This site is not tax payer subsidized so there is a need for rates to sustain it.
Q.  Ok how about some guarantees?  How stable is your system?  What is your connect speed to the web?
A.  This domain is hosted by www.rhino-tech.com and is backed up daily.   Rhino was on a full ISDN when this site first went online in November 1999.  As of January 2000, Rhino Technologies has upgraded to a DSL (Digital Service Line).  This is considerably more bandwidth than the ISDN.  It is of my opinion that this site is not, nor likely will ever be, hi-volume (8-10k hits a day or more) so at this time a DSL is fine. However, the more people / companies that host with Rhino Technologies the more active the domain becomes and the more income for Rhino to use toward a T1 connection should it become neccessary
